It is with profound sadness that we must inform you that Gary "Arizona" Johnson died suddenly of complications from high blood sugar just a couple hours before he was to perform at the Prescott Opry September 10th, 2015. We take some solace from the fact that he went quickly and did not suffer. Gary was a great husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin, teacher, mentor and loyal friend to many of us. He will be profoundly missed. For now, Gary's music Facebook profile linked below will likely have the latest news but we will endeavor to keep this site and Facebook, synchronized. To send private condolences directly to Pam, his wife, and family use the form below. As you can imagine, many people are going to want to express their sympathies so your patience with delayed responses will be greatly appreciated. And to those close to Gary that we missed notifying by phone, we apologize; no one was intentionally missed.

In lieu of flowers, Gary's family wishes you to give donations in the name of Gary Marshall Johnson to the American Diabetes Association.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, September 26 at 10 AM at the Smoke Tree Resort, 7101 E Lincoln in Scottsdale. The venue is just a block west of Scottsdale Rd on the south side of Lincoln. The restaurant is what you see from the street and it is closed but the rest of the property is alive and kickin' on the south side of the restaurant. If you arrive early enough you can park in back but it is likely people will end up parking in front of the restaurant.

All are welcome,

   Gary Lewallen
